Rick Hansen Foundation

The Challenge

We have made great strides towards creating an accessible and inclusive Canada, but we haven’t done enough. As part of Canada 150, we needed to raise awareness of the Rick Hansen Foundation’s Access4All program, and drive applications for grants that would improve accessibility in communities. The challenge was a plethora of loud organizations created a ton of noise in the same space. The work needed to cut through the clutter and resonate with the audience in order to drive a response.

The Solution

Through research, we landed on a powerful insight: that Canadians with disabilities can overcome great adversity, yet the smallest of barriers create huge obstacles in their everyday lives. We brought this to life through the incredible story of Djami Diallo, a remarkable woman and Canadian Paralympian.

The Results

Traffic to site increased 60% year on year, and generated a number of applications 225% above target.

More importantly, in the first year alone over 50 grants were reviewed and approved by the Government, contributing to a more accessible Canada.
